If you’re a US business owner looking for someone to run your Google Ads, you’ll quickly notice two very different price ranges. US agencies usually charge more. Agencies in India often charge much less.
So the big question is: am I getting the same thing for less, or am I getting less?
We’re an India-based agency working with clients in the USA, UK and Australia, so we get asked this all the time. Here’s our honest answer, including where US agencies can be the better choice.
Side-by-Side Comparison
| US-Based Agency | India-Based Agency | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Higher, because of higher salaries and office costs | Usually lower for similar work |
| Time zone | Same or similar working hours | Different, needs planned call times |
| Communication | Native English, US business culture | Varies a lot. The best teams communicate clearly and professionally. |
| US market knowledge | Built in | Varies. Look for real US client experience. |
| Hours on your account | Limited by higher hourly costs | Often more time for the same fee |
| Quality | Ranges from excellent to poor | Ranges from excellent to poor |
Notice the last row. Quality isn’t about the country. There are great and terrible agencies everywhere.
Where a US Agency Might Be the Better Fit
We’ll be straight with you. A US agency may suit you better if:
- You need someone to visit your office or meet in person regularly
- You need instant replies throughout your whole business day, every day
- You want your ad agency to also handle local things like events, print or local PR
- You simply feel more comfortable working with someone nearby. That’s a valid reason too.
Where an India-Based Agency Can Give You More Value
- More work for your money. Lower costs often mean more time spent on your account: more ad testing, more search term checks, more landing page improvements.
- Bigger share of budget goes to ads. If you save on management fees, you can put more into actual advertising.
- Overnight progress. Send a request at 5 pm in New York, and it can be done when you start work the next morning.
- Broad experience. Many Indian agencies work with clients across several countries and industries.

What Really Matters (No Matter Where the Agency Is)
1. Do they understand US customers?
US buyers expect fast websites, clear pricing and lots of reviews. Different states and cities behave differently. Holidays like Thanksgiving, Black Friday and the Fourth of July change ad costs. Your agency needs to know this.
2. Do they track real results?
Calls, forms, bookings and sales, not just clicks. This is the difference between an agency that’s busy and one that’s actually useful.
3. Can you reach them when it matters?
With an overseas team, agree on fixed call times that overlap with your day, clear reply times, and how urgent issues are handled.
4. Do you own your accounts?
Your Google Ads account must be in your name, with your billing. This protects you no matter who you hire. Learn more in why you should own your ad accounts.
5. Are their reports easy to understand?
You should be able to read your monthly report in five minutes and know exactly how your ads performed.
A Simple Way to Decide
| If this matters most to you… | Lean toward… |
|---|---|
| In-person meetings and same-hours support | US agency |
| Getting the most work for your budget | A proven India-based agency |
| Lowest risk while you test | Either one, starting with an audit or short trial |
How to Test an India-Based Agency Safely
- Start with an audit. See how well they understand your account and your business.
- Have a video call. Check communication, clarity and whether they listen.
- Ask for US examples. Real clients, real industries, real results.
- Start small. One campaign or a short trial period before handing over everything.
- Keep ownership. Give them access to your accounts. Never let them run ads from theirs.

Quick Answers to Common Questions
Is it safe to give an Indian agency access to my Google Ads account?
Yes, if you give access through Google’s user management and keep ownership and billing in your name. You can remove access at any time.
Will my ads look “foreign” if an Indian team writes them?
They shouldn’t. A good agency writes in natural American English and understands US spelling, tone and customer expectations. Ask to see sample ads before you start.
How much can I save with an India-based agency?
It depends on the agency and scope, but fees are often noticeably lower than US agency rates. See our guide to digital marketing agency pricing for typical ranges to compare against.
The Bottom Line
A US agency isn’t automatically better, and an Indian agency isn’t automatically cheaper and worse. What you really pay for is skill, process and communication. Find those, and the location matters much less.
